Ryan Reynolds play the title character in “Green Lantern


Director Martin Campbell and producers Donald De Line and Greg Berlanti have spent several months finalizing casting after they each favored different actors for the part.

Warner Bros. has chosen Ryan Reynolds to play the title character in “Green Lantern,” the studio’s live-action movie based on the DC Comics hero.

The 'Green Lantern' comic followsa pilot called Hal Jordan who is given a power ring and battery by a dying alien. By receiving the gifts, the otherwise ordinary man is instantly transformed into Green Lantern - a man who is "utterly honest and born without fear".


If the deal is completed, it would make Reynolds the only actor to have played heroes for both Marvel and DC. Ryan Reynolds recently starred in a comic-book movie, 20th Century Fox’s “X-Men Origins
